Intimacy Couples And Marriage

Man and Woman's Boots in the Snow

Whether we are reigniting current relationships or learning to create healthy ones, our quality of life is based on the interactions we have with others.

I can help you figure out how to truly communicate your concerns, wants, and needs with each other.  I will teach you how to focus on the outcome and not the blame.  Developing a team mentality will allow more trust and vulnerability to build.  Instead of the "we used to..." debate, I will give you the skills to reclaim the pleasure that was once so prevalent in the beginning.

Relationships can be amazingly rewarding yet challenging at the same time.  How can you love someone so much and be so angry at the same time?   Factors of everyday life can put an abundant strain on a relationship.  Severe stressors may include resentment, parenting, infidelity, intimacy issues, lack of trust, and miscommunication.  When problems go unresolved, or a partner is suffering from mental illness, addiction or health complications, one can feel helpless or have feelings of guilt or shame.  Communicating effectively on both parts can alleviate emotional anxiety.

We learn about relationships from the ones we grew up around and can end up repeating negative patterns unless we actively work on learning new ones.  Couples counseling can help slow down the process of conflict and develop ways of really hearing each other.  Couples often seek couples or marriage counseling when the relationship is at a standstill, or if they are unsure whether or not the relationship is worth salvaging.
